What’s that? A peanut wearing glasses, a potato in a tutu? Whatever they are, they are charming and they adorn the T-shirts of the new label Quipster, which was founded in 2013. You think the images look like doodles? You’re absolutely right, because that’s what they initially were for Andy, the creative head of Quipster, who has hand-drawn the cute characters since 2008.

After getting the last member, all-rounder Dominik, on boardthe trio came up with the idea to print the fun figures on T-shirts and decided to call them Quipsters. Together they’ve started to spread Quipster across the Internet and their hometown Salzburg in Austria.

You may think that the name Quipster has something to do with the Hipster culture, but a Quipster is actually a jokester. The whole philosophy of Quipster is to create a family-like community, in which all the different characters that exist in real life are represented through the Quipsters, so that you can easily relate to them and become part of the Quipster family. The Quipster Nerd, the Lifeguard, as well as the Figaroand many more would like to meet you – maybe this can be the start of a love affair or a true friendship.

The basic idea of Quipster is to express yourself in a fun and unconventionalway with the help of minimalist design and high-quality materials. But why have they chosen to keep it minimalist? The team behind Quipster believes in the power of the drawings and people’s chance to express themselves with the help of the Quipster characters, while they stick to a black and white concept.

Not only the high quality (100 % cotton), but also the ideal fit of the T-shirts played an important in the process of creating the innovative brand. The three young entrepreneurs set great value on teaming up with factories that ensure good working conditions for their workers, so they decided to produce their goods in Turkey and Austria. They’re very hands-on and visit the production plants on a regular basis, also to guarantee the highest possible quality for their young label. Another aspect of the Quipster concept is that the majority of the fits are unisex and can, thus, be worn by both, men and women.

Even though the three friends behind Quipster wanted to approach the project slowly, they have enjoyed great popularity among their customers in a very short time. This enabled them to offer Quipster in several popular fashion stores in their hometown of Salzburg, Austria. Simultaneously, they’ve set up their own online shop where they not only sell their adorable T-shirts, but also new items like the trendy Quipster cotton tote bag and a variety of cute gift cards.
