Clash of Clans Barching – A Farmer’s Heaven (middle stage guide)

The word barching comprises of two of the most basic tier 1 troops in Clash of Clans – Barbarians and Archers. This attack strategy is undoubtedly the easiest, quickest and cheapest way of getting loot for players in the fairly middle stages in the game span (Town Hall 7, 8). At town hall 7, you get max troop capacity of 200 in your army camps which is highly suitable for the barching strategy.

Trying out this strategy is simple – fill up 2 of your barracks with barbarians, other 2 with archers along with 2-3 wall breakers in each. Wait for their training to finish, then fill them up again and you’re good for an attack with approximately 108 barbarians, 80 archers and 6 wall breakers. Make sure that your barracks are full with the same troops mentioned above when you go for the attack, reason being, they’ll keep on training while you’re attacking so when you’re back from the attack, most of your troops will be ready for action again and the max wait time between attacks will be around 10-15 minutes only.

The key of a successful barch attack is finding the right base. For that, first you need to be in the right trophy range, not too high, not too low. Ideally, Gold III & II are considered good for finding good and easy bases for barching. Number 1 thing to look in a base is – of course the available loot. The minimum loot you should target is around 300-400k, unless you find lesser getable loot using very few troops. That targeted loot may sound a bit outrageous for the new players but THOSE BASES ARE THERE! Another thing you need to know is that, 3 starring a base or getting all the storages using barch will not be possible in most of the bases. So, here comes the collectors and mines in to play. Filled up collectors and mines are the home-run spot for the barch. More often than not, people will have all their mines and collectors outside the walls in fairly vulnerable positions which should be the prey of your barbarians and archers. Spawning them is easy peasy as well – send in a couple of lines of barbarians, then archers in the same way (swiping your finger across if the mines and collectors are in a line, tapping if they are dispersed) then barbarians again quickly to finish off the task.

Only use wall breakers if it’s absolute necessary! You need to be careful from Mortars and Wizard towers due to their splash damage. They can make your tiny units disappear in thin air, so be careful where and how many you’re sending them in. With a little experience you will be able to find ways to sneak your way around to suck out every bit of loot available from collectors, mines and in best case – storages.
Identifying the amount of loot present in the collectors and mines is vital. Normally, an experienced farmer can tell the amount residing in the collectors and mines just by looking at them. They have a little storage attached to them which get filled when they have a lot of uncollected resources in them. An illustration of filled and empty collectors/mines are below:

Just remember, you need to be patient enough to keep tapping next button for a few minutes. Average time it will take you to find a good base is around 4-5 minutes. But once you find them, they’re worth the wait!

For trophy sensitive people, you can still get 1 star from almost any base by destroying all the outside buildings (50%) and getting all the available loot from mines, collectors and a couple of storages. Do that often to maintain your trophy range.

Don’t hesitate to keep your town hall outside for someone who will have the decency to give you free 12 hour shield without touching your loot which will be highly unlikely though but you shouldn’t mind losing a few pennies from the dollars you looted. So, find some free hours, grab a cup of coffee, put on your favorite show on TV and rock the barch.
