I recently watched a lot of horror movies. It’s a genre that I so far didn’t really pay much attention to. Mostly I skipped it because when I was a kid, the whole thing scared me too much and then I just avoided it all together, to be honest. But now that I’ve seen a lot of them, I have to say that I’ve been slightly disappointed by the whole genre. The older horror movies usually aren’t scary anymore, because the original ideas became cliche by now, and they use those annoyingly loud trombone noises, while the more recent movie usually aren’t scary anymore because the story lines are increasingly stupid.
There are a few exceptions of course, where the plot is actually kinda intriguing, but most of them rely on cool looking death scenes, loads of gory details with buckets of blood, and mainly a huge bang as often as possible.
I was giving up on the whole concept, when I finally found some cool ones. They didn’t make annoying loud noises causing jump scares, but they did use a lot creepyness. Horror movies like the Ring, the Conjuring, Saw and the Grudge are much more effective in my opinion, because they put a creepy horror idea in your mind. An idea that doesn’t necessarily involve ghosts or the devil, but rather an unlikely event that a person could actually believe happened to him. These ideas creep into your mind and they stay there long after you’ve already forgotten about the movie. You go into an elevator and the lights blink and you can’t help but feel a bit sick for no reason for some time. That uneasy feeling of someone standing behind you, watching you, even though you know there can be no one there.
Well don’t turn around now, because I’ve found some creepy t-shirts for you. Some are a bit funny, and some are a bit disturbed, but they’re all creepy in their own way. Enjoy!
