ExploreThe Legend of Korra is the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender, one of my personal favorite animes out there. It is set in a fictional universe where some people can manipulate the elements, or rather bend them to do what they want them to do. Some people can bend one element, few can bend two, if they’re a version of the same element, like earth and metal, and only the avatar can bend all four elements.
The Legend of Korra is set 70 years after Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Korra is Aang’s reincarnation. The world has a much more modern look in this series, which I didn’t like at first, but you get used to it pretty fast.
As the series begins, Korra is just learning to master air bending. She joins a league of benders and enters into competitions. She’s kind of a strong headed teenager. But as the show goes on she progresses into a more spiritual person, with the ability to lead and defend her own people.
The show features the voices of Janet Varney, David Faustino, P. J. Byrne, Seychelle Gabriel, J. K. Simmons, Mindy Sterling, Maria Bamford, Kiernan Shipka and Dee Bradley Baker for the main cast and Daniel Dae Kim, Clancy Brown, Lisa Edelstein, James Remar, Henry Rollins, and Anne Heche as some of the reccuring roles.
