ExploreFullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is an anime that has the highest rating on A LOT of anime lists. It is set in a world where alchemy is real. The basic rule of alchemy is to create something, the alchemist has to sacrifice something of equal value. Edward Elric is the Fullmetal Alchemist, who almost lost his little brother in an alchemical accident. He managed to save him but lost his limbs doing it. To get back what they lost, they need to find the famous Philosopher’s Stone.
This is a remake of the original Fullmetal Alchemist, but widely regarded as better. It follows the original manga more closely and is much faster paced. It has lots of clever plot twists and ideas and it makes sure to tie up all loose ends by the end. It is a bit simpler than the original but the artwork is still very very good.
The voice acting is very inspired, as all the voices seem to fit perfectly with the characters. The soundtrack is pretty good too, though the music does seem a bit repetitive at the beginning of the series. It does get better as the series continues though. I’d really like to say how amazing the ending of this anime is. Without spoiling anything, I can easily say that this show has one of the best endings I’ve seen in anime.
Another great thing about this anime is that it has very close to no “filler” episodes. The story stays good throughout the entire show, and the characters are all incredibly developed. I know I say that for a lot of the things I wrote about, but this is again one of those must see animes.
