Dark Souls 2 is one of the best games I’ve played. I love that everything is about learning and getting better, and not about getting better gear as it is in every other RPG game.
Dark Souls is game you’ll either love or hate, but worth a try. It’s a game that doesn’t hold your hand, doesn’t baby you throughout the experience and expects you to die, while taunting you with the deaths of thousands around you.
For anyone that is not familiar with the Souls series games, here’s how the gameplay works: every time you kill an enemy you collect their souls. You can use the souls collected to level up and buy/upgrade gear. The bad part is that if you die you lose all the souls you have collected so far. What makes the game even harder is that there’s no auto health recovery, no pause button, no retry on the boss and the only way to have checkpoints is to find bonfires.
Dark Souls will be frustrating for those who might not have the patience to learn the ins and outs of the game. But those that enjoy it will find that they will be spending a lot of time in the land of Drangleic. And while you’re fighting enemies and bosses make sure to wear one of these Dark Soul t-shirts … at least you’ll die in style!
