ExploreMobile Suit Gundam is an anime that most anime lovers have heard of. It’s an outstanding anime series set in the Universal Century 0079 where a war between two sides is taking place. The Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon are at a stalemate. Amuro Ray, the lead character becomes the pilot of Gundam, the Earth Federation’s secret weapon.
Now this anime is actually quite old, being from 1979 so the animation and the sound are both lacking a bit in quality by today’s standards. But if you give it a try you will definitely see why most people who watch it actually love it. The characters are amazing, and so is the story. Everybody you meet is basically a rookie, so you get to see them develop throughout the series, and the story just builds up and builds up all the way until the amazing finale.
The voice actors are all very well known in the anime universe, but a lot of their careers took off after they voiced characters in this anime, which says volumes all on its own. Someone might have described this anime to you as a mecha type of thing, and you might have assumed that it’s similar to the Transformers and Voltron, but it’s really worlds apart, simply because of the far superior story line and character development. It’s a story of trust and betrayal, on both sides of the war, and it is a story about the toll war takes on everybody involved.
