Scarface is a movie starring Al Pacino. It is one of the most iconic gangster movies ever made, probably only topped by The Godfather, which is starring Al Pacino again. And what’s not to like? It’s an incredibly popular rags to riches story, basically the American dream, though not in the teenage girl kind of way. Some people love it and some hate it, but none can ever say it’s not entertaining. It’s very quotable, everyone’s heard of Say hello to my little friend. It defined Al Pacino’s career back in 1983.

So what makes this movie so cool? Well for one thing, Tony Montana, the main character may be over the top and has a death wish, but he’s definitely not lacking in confidence. From beginning to the end he has huge balls. It has to be said. It is his biggest strength, but also ultimately his biggest weakness, because it pretty much makes him insane by the end. Even when he’s threatened by a chain saw wielding guy, he’s not afraid, he doesn’t even blink. I don’t care where you’re from or who you are, that takes balls. Like grande cojones.

This is a story about a guy who never shows any kind of respect to any authority figure or anything else fate decides to throw at him. He makes his own way from start to finish, which of course means there can only be one good way to finish it. Dying in a blaze of glory, against way too many opponents, but still holding his own. Which is pretty much the only reason you need to become a part of it’s insanely huge fanbase.
