Harry Potter, I think it’s safe to say that we all grew up with him. If you have no idea what I’m talking about right now, find a nice quiet corner and spend the next month or so reading the Harry Potter books. All of them. Hell, take a whole year off work if you’re a slow reader.
So I was saying I grew up with Harry Potter and believe it or not I actually waited for my Hogwarts letter … bloody hell, I’m still waiting for it. Harry Potter universe traveled from paper to the screen, from 7 books to 8 movies, enough to keep you busy for quite some time. The only difference between Harry’s world and our own is that in his universe magic exists, and most of the action takes place in Hogwarts, a school for wizards and gravitates around Harry Potter, an orphan who later becomes The Chosen One, the only one that can defeat He Who Must Not Be Named, Lord Voldemort.
I know this will sound cliche, but Harry Potter is really my childhood and not only that, it’s a part of my life. I know fans who stayed with it from the very beginning until the very end will agree with me when I say that the most painful thing is leaving our childhood behind. I will never forget the rush and excitement when I was buying a new book or going to another premiere. Nothing in the world made me happier at the time. I will never forget the countless nights I spent in my bed reading the books until 5am.
Harry Potter can mean many things to many people. For me, these books were a beacon of light and hope; it was the light at the end of the tunnel. The books and characters made every step of the way easier, and so, that boy with the messy black hair, green eyes and lightning bolt, became my best friend. And for that, I’ll be ever thankful to J. K. Rowling. So I ask you, what does Harry Potter mean to you?

I have a t-shirt addiction, a craving for new RTS video games and a dream to become Captain America. I also grow my own beard so I'm kind of a big deal! :P
