It’s been quite a few years since the original Angry Birds came out and made everyone want to buy an iPad. It’s since then had a gazillion themed Angry Birds games, including a racing game, a Star Wars game, Rio, fighting game, a puzzle game and a bunch of others. It’s had so many spin offs that for some reason I didn’t even notice that they actually made an actual sequel called Angry Birds 2 a few months ago.

So what’s different about it? Not much, but also a lot. First of all, the graphics are way better. The explosions are much much cooler. When things blow up, you may actually find a Pig hitting your display. Another thing that’s changed is that you don’t really need an iPad anymore. I mean I know you could play them on your phone before, but the phones this year are getting bigger and bigger and are also faster and faster. I’m playing it on my LG G4 and it all feels amazing.

A huge difference though is that the levels are now part of a multi-leveled stage. And you get to choose which bird you want to use, but you can only use it once per stage, so you have to be tactical about using the right bird for the job. If you use a bird that would normally do a lot of damage on something that doesn’t really need that much, you will regret it later. Oh and also, when you lost a life, the levels get rebuilt in a different way.

Another new thing are the spells that you can acquire while playing the game. Some of those include blizzards that turn all the buildings into ice, making them easy to collapse, magic ducks raining from the sky, and hot chili peppers, which can explode one pig, causing damage to everything around it. It also has weather effects and some pretty cool music. If you missed it like I did, make sure you give it a try.
