Combine Crysis with Ninja Gaiden, add some RPG elements on top of that and Warframe is what comes out. The premise of the game is quite simple, you’re a Tenno assassin, a warrior of the blade and gun and master of the Warframe armour, fighting the Grineer, a mysterious race seeking to conquer the solar system.
Got you a little intrigued about the game? Try it out, it’s F2P (free to play), meaning you’ll only lose a few hours of your life to give it a shot. Or a few hundred hours in case you get hooked up. Sure the game has micro-transactions but those are there just to help you get full upgrades faster. Almost everything in the cash shop, except for a few skins and colours can be obtained with in-game currency or can be crafted.
Warframe’s leveling system makes it easy for new players to jump into the action and also reward veterans with stronger mods for their Warframes, weapons and other upgradable items.
The game is structured around 4 man instanced missions on huge maps with a variety of main and secondary objectives. You can play with up to 3 friends or use the game’s matchmaking system. Exploring these huge randomized maps is usually rewarded with rare mods and bonus cash. Just be careful, it’s quite easy to get lost or die. If you die you can either be revived by a team mate (within 15 seconds or you’ll bleed out) or use one of your 4 free daily revives.
New stuff is added all the time, so there’s always something to do in Warframe. Getting the blueprints for new weapons or Warframes takes a few hours of farming and another 6 hours to 3 real-life days to actual craft. But the reward will worth the wait, especially if it’s something that suits your play style.
Go ahead, give it a try. Get a friend or two to play with you and start your space ninja adventure. And while you’re at it check out these Warframe t-shirts I gathered for you. You’re gonna need a good tee to keep you warm underneath that cold Excalibur Prime battlesuit.

I have a t-shirt addiction, a craving for new RTS video games and a dream to become Captain America. I also grow my own beard so I'm kind of a big deal! :P
