ExploreA friend of mine got me into Ark Survival Evolved awhile ago. I spent my whole summer playing the game with his tribe and totally neglect my social life and Steam Library. I bought the game at the same time with Total War: Warhammer but I don’t think I spent more then 2 hours on Warhammer. Even though Ark is in Early Access it still looks amazing AF. Who wouldn’t want to tame and ride a T-Rex or even mount plasma cannons on it.
Ark Survival Evolved has everything a fantastic survival open world game should have. We have base construction, a food and drink system, an RPG-like leveling system for your character and the ability to tame the wild and use them as you see fit. I’ll pile in some pros and cons for people actually curious about the game. If you’re already a hardcore Ark survivor you can skip this and jump straight to our selection of great Ark Survival Evolved t-shirts.
Pros:
– Tame Wildlife – there are over 25 types of dinosaurs you can tame and ride and more are added regularly
– Tribal PvP – join a tribe and wage war with other tribes for rare resources and glory
– Huge open world with breathtaking scenery
– Dynamic weather system
– Active devs – which cannot be said for every other MMO games
Cons:
Ark is still in early access so most of the cons are being worked on
– Balance – weapons vs dinos
– Dinos have no pathfinding (at least when I was playing) – I often found dinos stuck between trees or walking head first into a wall for hours
– No tutorial – you’re on your own after all
– High loading times – my rig isn’t top of the line but it isn’t a potato either. Sometime it takes up to 3 minutes to load the game and patience isn’t exactly my strong point.
I seriously can’t think of any other cons right now, I haven’t encountered anything game breaking while playing Ark. Anyhow, in my opinion Ark Survival Evolved is a great game and I can’t wait to see it finished and out of Early Access. If you haven’t played it yet, give it a try. Steam sales are coming up and you can probably get it for $15 ($29.99 right now on Steam).
