20 Gotham Season Four T-Shirts: Bring on the Batman!

by on Sep 09, 2017

In this world of DVRs and Netflix, there are few television shows we race home to watch any more. For me, the one that I watch immediately, if not live, is Gotham. This Batman prequel is rich in characters and every episode is sit on the edge of your seat action. With the fourth season premiering later this month, the show is still going strong and looks like it has quite a few stories to unweave.

I was a little surprised that last season ended with our first taste of Bruce Wayne fighting crime in disguise. I thought the character would disappear to some mysterious land for a few months (or even seasons) just as it looked as if there were no more stories to tell. But no, season four is going to focus on Bruce Wayne transforming into Batman. And I couldn’t be giddier!

Though David Mazouz is starting to mature, I’m not sure if he quite has the build for the Dark Knight yet. Not that we need to see the actor bulk up, he could be more of a Michael Keaton framed Batman (and really, we’ve yet to have actors like The Rock, play Batman). But with great skill and good armor, Bruce will learn how to defeat his foes.

It looks like instead of leaving town, the training may come to him. According to this year’s San Diego Comic Con, it looks like Ra’s al Ghul will become a resident of Gotham this upcoming season. As hinted at the end of last season, he will be played by former Game of Thrones actor, Alexander Siddig. But what is Ra’s al Ghul ultimate plan for Bruce Wayne and Gotham? Guess we’ll have to wait and watch that unfold in the months to come.

But there are so many other stories I can’t wait to see the progression of in season four. While Bruce is training for Batman, Cat will train under Tabitha for her future as Catwoman. Seeing her pick up the whip at the end of last season was almost more exciting than seeing Bruce save that family. I’ve a feeling this season is going to be a big one for Cat.

Meanwhile, the grown up Ivy is slowly coming into her own. What will the new season hold for her? Will she move closer to Poison Ivy? Another great end of last season reveal was that Butch is Solomon Grundy. Will that beast also take form, or will poor Butch be stuck in a hospital bed most of the season?

Of course the big question will be how long with Edward Nigma remain trapped in ice? I can’t wait to see their take on Cobblepot’s Iceberg Lounge. But as cool as that is, the fire between Riddler and Penguin is sure to heat up again this season.

All of this and there may be time to check in with Commissioner Gordon and the folks at the GCPD. The Jarvis Tetch virus did a great deal of damage to the force. Will they be able to move forward? Will Gordon and Lee find their way back to each other (and do we want them to)? Or will Lee actually start taking an interest in Bruce Wayne and his future alter ego (you know, like in the comics)?

All this an all those other villains we know will pop up or reappear. I have complete faith that the Gotham creators will make this season as unforgettable as the previous three! I’ll be tuning in, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.
