Who else is totally psyched for the new season of Stranger Things? It premieres in less than a month, on October 27.
The series will be welcoming new faces to the cast, including Lord of The Rings’ Sean Astin, as well as bringing us our favorite characters from the first season. Most importantly: E11e is back. If you remember the end of last season, it was heavily implied that E11e wasn’t dead after all. Hopper left Eggos in a drop box at the edge of the snowy forest. In the spooky trailer for the new season, we can plainly see E11e. She’s alive, it seems, but she’s definitely trapped in the Upside Down version of Hawkins Elementary.
This season looks like its gearing up for something epic. Will’s visions are getting worse, showing him flashes of huge, Lovecraftian monsters destroying Hawkins. The end is nigh. E11e hadn’t managed to seal up the doors between the Dark Dimension and our world, and creatures from the Dark Dimension are leaking through and wreaking havoc.
We always knew that the ‘happily ever after’ ending of season 1 wasn’t meant to last. We just weren’t shown how exactly that would manifest. There’s still a lot of loose threads and unfinished business.
It seems something is actually calling Will from the Dark Dimension, drawing him into deeper and deeper insanity. We’re not sure if its the Upside Down itself, or if there’s some enormous creature lurking there that wants Will specifically.
The boys gear up into ghostbuster-esque costumes and are off on a quest, probably to find E11e. We’re not sure what Hopper is up to just yet, but we’ll bet our bottom dollar that it has something to do with Hawkins Lighting Company.
Here’s that trailer:
What do you think is going to happen in the next season of Stranger Things. Is E11e going to be okay? Is Will going to go insane and get lost in the Upside Down for good? What’s Hopper up to, and how did the government get ahold of E11e again? Let us know in the comments, and don’t forget to check out our Stranger Things collection. Every tee there is an excellent choice to pair with your coffee and contemplation.
Til October 27!
