For as long as I could remember, ugly Christmas sweaters were a thing to be shunned. It was something your Aunt Mildred made for you and you were too embarrassed to wear it. But suddenly, people wanted to wear ugly Christmas sweaters. Soon, they were for sale everywhere, and jobs and classrooms had contests for who showed up in the worst looking one.
The phenomena has really exploded in the past few years to the point that almost every fandom you can imagine has multiple ugly Christmas Sweater designs. And they’re not just for sweaters anymore, they’re for t-shirts, too!
