Big Bang Theory T-Shirts That Unravel the Mysteries

For almost ten years now, The Big Bang Theory has made geek culture main stream. I can understand the love/hate relationship with the phenomena of this show. Things that many of us geeks have enjoyed for decades were suddenly cast into the limelight by this show as if nobody had ever known these elements of this sub-culture before. And if you mention to your average Joe your geeky interests, you often get the reply: “Oh, like on The Big Bang Theory?” And then you have to respond with a list of reasons why your life and interests are not quite like the television show.

All that aside, The Big Bang Theory is a damn funny show. And it has helped to put geek culture on the map. And for as many parts of the show we may not agree with, I’m sure there are others that we laugh out loud at because they’re true. Yes, they are stereotypes of geeks, but they’re hilarious, and not harmful stereotypes. It’s been fun over the past ten seasons to watch these characters grow into more substantial beings.

It’s hard to believe that it was almost ten years ago that we saw the beautiful (if not too intelligent) blonde girl move in next door to the nerdy scientists Leonard and Sheldon. Now Leonard and Penny are married while Sheldon explores his emotions like a Vulcan with the help of his girlfriend, Amy.

Their friends Howard and Raj have gone from being back-burner characters to the front lines. Howard was the first to get married, have a baby and lose a parent. Raj has learned to come to grips with his inability to talk to women, and trying figure out what he wants from a woman (or dare I suspect, a man).

The show always knows how to keep itself fresh without “jumping the shark.” Before the boy’s fantastic four could get tired, there came the girl’s club of Penny, Bernadette and Amy. And comic book store owner, Stuart, became a series regular. Plus a litany of famous actors playing family members, and lots of cameos by real life actors playing themselves: Wil Wheton, Levar Burton, Adam West, the voice of Leonard Nimoy, Stephen Hawkings, James Earl Jone and Carrie Fisher.

The show really has been a big bang of pop culture. So much of it has already crossed over into pop culture lexicon. From the characters, to their quirks, to their quotes, there’s lots of fun stuff for Big Bang Theory t-shirts!

It’s certainly a quotable show:

The theme song, by the Barenaked Ladies, is stuffed full of fun science references.

And Sheldon’s knocking habits are in a class by themselves.

As well as his comfort song, Soft Kitty.

And, of course: Bazinga!

The games they play have made quite an impact. From Klingon Boggle:

To Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock!

And some unique bowling league names.

This gang and their idiosyncrasies are also perfect for Mash-Ups.

There no doubting, these geeks rock!
