21 Justice League T-Shirts for All

by on Aug 01, 2017

After being well over a decade into the Golden Age of Superhero Movies, we are finally going to get a Justice League movie. The long awaited gathering of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg will soon be shown on big screens all over the world. And I’ve never been more filled with dread.

I know, I know. It’s the same old song. Us comic book movie fans who don’t like the too dark and dreary take on the DC Universe as of late. The Man of Steel was destruction porn. Batman and Superman with it’s ridiculous Martha bonding. And the Academy Award Winning Suicide Squad, which I at least enjoyed more than the others (though that is NOT my Joker and Harley Quinn), but still didn’t rise much above the swamp of DC movies.

But the streak of uninspired DC movies was broken this year with Wonder Woman. A DC movie that was actually uplifting, respectful of the characters and oh… was good. So that should give us hope that Justice League should be great, right? Wrong.

Not that one should dismiss a movie by it’s trailer, but when I saw it before watching Wonder Woman, it looked like we were back to the dark brooding territory of Batman vs. Superman. Would it kill these people to use a brighter color scheme! And just more of the Zack Snyder blowing things up action scenes with no character development.

A while back, news broken that Zack Snyder had to leave the Justice League project, due to a very unfortunate family tragedy, Joss Whedon has jumped in to finish the film. Joss’ track record of geeks successes (give or take The Avengers: Age of Ultron) speak for themselves. But with the film already shot was there much Joss could do to give it his signature touch on the cutting room floor?

Now it sounds like Whedon has doing some reshoots on the film. With the combination of him taking the helm and the success of Wonder Woman, rumor has it he’s making the tone much lighter and adding more of that classic Whedon banter. Will it all tie together? We can only hope.

Because, I mean, come on! It’s the Justice League! For those of us who were raised on the Superfriends or the Cartoon Network Justice League show, this has been more than a long time coming. That The Avengers, with heroes were much less known outside of a comic fan setting, came before this, is still a surprise. And why DC didn’t “borrow” the road map Marvel created is beyond me. Guess they wanted to be different.

And no, I don’t want Justice League to be a carbon copy of The Avengers. And if they play the characters like they’ve been throughout all of their comic history, there should be some powerful character moments in what should be an earth shaking story. Will it be? We can only hope at this point.

There’s a long history to the Justice League, or JLA for you comic book buffs. My hope is that the movie will utilize it. Or at least set some it up for future films (because you know there will be). So, in the meantime, I’ve tee hunted some nice Justice League shirts that both look forward to the movie and back at their colorful history… oh man, I do hope Joss changes the color palette!

Enjoy!
