18 Inhuman T-Shirts for All Kinds of People

As much as I enjoy the core members of the Fantastic Four, there was nothing more exciting than when one member would take a break (usually Sue Storm) and be replaced by one of their friends from The Inhumans. At one time, it was the powerful haired Medusa joining the FF, and at another time it was the basic element controlling Crystal. And Crystal was also a long time girlfriend of the Human Torch.

Long before these ladies joined the FF in their time of need, they were major players in the Fantastic Four comic books. At first, Medusa was a villain, one of the original members of the Frightful Four. Turns out she was just confused, because she came from a group of superpowered, unearthly beings called The Inhumans, who wanted to do good.

In the very early days of the Fantastic Four comics, we met the core of The Inhumans. The aforementioned Medusa, and Crystal. Their leader, Black Bolt, who’s voice is a powerful weapon. Triton, a fabulous fish-like character. Gorgon, a man with legs that can shake the earth. As well as the karate killing Karnak. Oh, and let’s not forget their big slobbering, teleporting puppy Lockjaw. The Inhumans quickly became friends and allies of the Fantastic Four.

Which was a good thing, because there was much unrest in their little group/family. Black Bolt’s brother had taken over their hidden world in the mountains and wasn’t going to give it up without a fight.

It’s the subject of this battle that appears to be the kick off storyline in the upcoming Inhumans television series from Marvel. Already playing a major part on Marvel’s getting better by the season Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Inumans are now ready to take the world by storm. In a series premier that not only can you catch on your television, but in IMAX theaters as well.

For those of you who remember the early planning of the Marvel movie timeline. There was an Inhumans film in the offering. I don’t think it was intended to be the made-for-TV movie that we’re now getting, but that’s because it looked like they wanted to seed the character in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As they did with Skye, aka Quake.

The good news is we get more Inhumans. The bad news, is early buzz on the show is not very good. Sadly, some of the clips have even come off as laughable. I’m doing my best to not pre-judge too harshly (and yes, I know I’ve done plenty of pre-judging in my blogs). Like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Inhumans may need to find its legs. But let’s hope that happens quickly, so the already uncertain fans stick around.

If done well, Marvel could have another hit on their hands with The Inhumans. A royal family of superheroes kicked out of their home land. A Shakespearean like family conflict. Hell, I’d take a Dynasty-like superhero show if it worked. But right now, all we can do is wait and hope that Marvel does their best.

Either way, it wouldn’t hurt bruising up on the history of The Inhumans, starting way back in Fantastic Four #45, and all the wonderful Inhuman history that comes after that.
