Earn Up to $13.000 Selling Your Poo

by on Feb 05, 2015

Yes, you read it right. You can make up to 13000 dollars a year selling your shit. I know it sounds stupid, but people sell their blood, sperm, hair…so why not sell feces too? But who would want to buy my feces, I hear you ask. Well, there’s a nonprofit organization called OpenBiome. The frozen stool is used to treat patients who are infected with a rare bacteria C. Difficile, which causes extreme gastrointestinal distress.

Now while there are antibiotics to treat this bacteria, the disease often comes back after the treatment stops. So for a long term solution the doctors insert healthy fecal matter into the patients gut and that’s where you come in. OpenBiome will pay for your poop. Maybe. They pay 40 dollars for a healthy sample, and if you come in 5 times a week, they give you a bonus 50 dollars. That’s 250 dollars a week, with 52 weeks in a year that makes 13.000 dollars a year.

But notice that I did say maybe there. There is a catch. They only take feces from the healthiest people. Out of everyone who applied so far, they only accepted 4%, meaning 40 out of 1000. But hey, if you think you have what it takes, the crap you wash down the toilet just might be your gold mine.

OpenBiome is also looking into other areas where your number two might be useful for patients, however the founder of the company has been heard to say “I never thought that after getting my PhD I’d start mailing poop around, but here I am.”

And naturally if you do make the cut of the healthiest of the healthiest people out there, the top 4%, you will want everyone know how you did it, so invest your easy money into one of these awesome t-shirts.
