Aquaman. We know him as the weird lame super hero from DC comics. You know, the guy that can breathe under water and talk to fish if they’re close enough. Um, yeah.
So what do they have in common? Well Jason Momoa will be the new Aquaman in the 2016 movie Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as in the stand alone Aquaman movie that’s supposed to come out in 2018. He has stated though that his contract is for 4 movies all together. It seems that the new image they’re going for is to make him much more bad ass.
This looks to be a much more amazing depiction of the character than we were used to in the past. The other cast of Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice will include Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Laurence Fishburn as Perry White (Clark Kent’s boss), Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.
The film is influenced by the graphic novels “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns” (where Superman and Batman clash over opposing views), “Kingdom Come” (Batman uses an army of drones) and “Batman: Noel” (a stone-hearted Batman rediscovers his humanity). -IMDB
So far there is no other news about the 2018 movie Aquaman, but Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the first feature length movie to have the characters of Wonder Woman and Cyborg in it. They have previously only appeared in the graphic novels, TV shows, and animated movies. We’ll keep you posted as more news comes up.
