ExploreSupernatural. The show that was supposed to have only 5 seasons, but has 10 so far, thanks to the devoted fans. It focuses on two investigator brothers whose mother was killed by a supernatural being. It’s a show that’s scary and funny at the right moments, and each episode is very thrilling to watch.
Dean and John Winchester love their rock and roll and as such, the show’s soundtrack features bands like AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Metallica. Every episode ends with Carry on My Wayward Son. This fits extremely well with the gory parts of the show, like when a monster makes a bloody mess out of somebody.
The characters of the show are very 3 dimensional, the show keeps a very tight plot and sub-plots, making sure the characters develop and build their relationships. When someone dies you can empathize with it, and you can feel the loss that the brothers feel. Even though the writers change over the years, the direction is still clear.
While the basic story is really one different monster for an episode, there are always bigger story arcs at play and the monsters never really disappoint. What you get is action packed, gory, funny satisfaction with each new episode, and it keeps you wanting more. It’s one of the few shows that hasn’t jumped the shark even after all these seasons, and the reason for that is that it has a great atmosphere, kind of like the X-Files used to have, spooky and cool.
