Ok, I have to get this off my chest because I’m pretty pissed off about it. I love Scarlett Johansson. She’s a brilliant actress, she’s smart, she mostly knows how to pick good roles, and last but not least, she’s damn good looking. So why in the hell would Disney and Marvel decide to ignore her on a huge majority of their merch for the Avengers: Age of Ultron? I mean there’s t-shirts with all the guys from the movies, but putting a girl on a shirt means that geeks, nerds and fanboys wouldn’t wear it? Why? It would destroy their macho look? Come on Disney! Get a grip Marvel!
Marvel and Disney recently announced all 56 official Avengers: Age of Ultron items. Most of them look something like this:
Which is fine by itself, but when you look closer you’ll see that out of 56 items related to Ultron, only 4 of them feature Black Widow. She’s on one shirt, one mug, one tote bag, and one mouse pad. Wow. I think Marvel and Disney are missing a huge market out there. I mean, yes, there are more fan boys out there than fan girls, but I’m damn sure there a lot of them too.
In fact, let me try to put it to the test. We managed to find some Black Widow stuff for your viewing pleasure. And since like I said there’s not as much as one would like, there’s also some other shirts related to strong female heroines. Now it’s up to you to get some and show that there’s still a thing called girl power!
