Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the upcoming sequel to Black Ops 2, due for release on November 6th, 2015 on PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, xBox One and xBox 360. Call Of Duty has many versions though. It’s primarily a first person shooter, and while the first games were focused on World War 2, with later games we got to experience different settings.

The first in the franchise to move away from the World War 2 theme was Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is set in modern day as the title suggests. Black Ops is set in the Cold War, while it’s sequel takes place in the near future, 2025 to be precise. CoD: Ghosts is set in an alternate universe, following a nuclear destruction of the Middle East.

The franchise which started in 2003 has since then sold over 175 million copies, and a ton of other merchandise. This includes everything from t-shirts, to handheld games, a card game, action figures, mega bloks and even a mini comic book series. The sales of every Call of Duty game released so far has topped 10 billion dollars, so they are obviously doing something right.

The first real news that we can expect about Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will probably come after the E3 this year, where we will most likely get a playable demo either for Playstation 4 or xBox One, depending on who gives them a better offer. Whoever it may be, that system will most likely get an early release as well. We do know it’s being developed by TreyArch who promise to give us some new gameplay, more zombies and plenty of new features.
