I’ve waited 5 years to see where Adam Jensen’s road leads. The action in Mankind Divided takes place 2 years after Human Revolution, so in case you haven’t played it I suggest you do.
This time around the story isn’t as engaging as Human Revolution but the action makes up for it. I love Deus Ex’s semi-open, it’s packed with things to find and explore. You play as Adam Jensen, an augumented Interpol agent sent out to capture a terrorist group of augumented humans. Secretly you also work with the Juggernaut Collective, a group of hackers who are trying to stop the Illuminati. Basically, you’re a double agent.
What I love most about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is that you can play it exactly how you feel. You can combat, stealth, hacking and even talking your way out of a situation.
Some may argue that the story wasn’t ambitious enough, but the side quest really make up for it. There are mysterious subplots that make you wonder who did an entire refit of the augmented Adam Jensen or who’s the mole in Taskforce 29.
Not only was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided one of the most hyped games of 2016 but also had to fill some pretty big shoes. If you leave aside the microtransactions (I know, everyone hates them), Mankind Divided is a solid 9/10, a worthy successor for Human Revolution.
