In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.

There’s no question that this past year has been a tumultuous one for the rights of the marginalized, whether that includes women, people of color, Muslims, members of the LGBTQA+ community, or any other marginalized group. 2017 is a new year, and many aren’t sure what it will hold.

This Saturday, January 21st, people on almost every continent in the world are joining together to rally for the rights of the marginalized. The main rally will be held in Washington D.C., but sister rallies are being held in Portland, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York, London, Madrid, Berlin, Dublin, Paris, Cape Town, Tokyo, Wellington, Tel Aviv, and countless other cities across the world, including in Iran and Iraq.

The rally in D.C. will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 1:15 PM, the march will begin after at 1:15 PM, near the U.S. Capitol building. The movement is a nonviolent protest focused on making sure that the new government of the United States is aware that women’s rights are human rights, with an emphasis on speaking for those who can’t speak for themselves and forcing those in power to listen to the voice of their country.

If you’re planning on being a champion of these values and want to show your support for human rights and the International Women’s March on January 21st, here’s a couple T-shirts you might be interested in.

I’m with them. Are you?
