There’s a quote that became very popular this week, “Never the less, She Persisted.” by Mitch McConnell. He is the U.S. Senate majority leader and was using a procedural right to cut short the speech of senator Elizabeth Warren. He was explaining that Ms. Warren had been warned to stop her speech in congruence with Senate policies. With his quote he unknowingly gave women’s rights activists a new slogan and “weaponized meme.” The precise political context of the quote is fading as “Never the less, She Persisted” takes on a whole new meaning. It’s becoming a simple statement for reminding women to be persistent and never let down.
We were reminded of this video, where little girls can become whatever they can imagine.
