21 Oscar Winning Movie T-Shirts

For movie fans, Oscar season is like Christmas. Not only are we excited about seeing the current Oscar nominated movies, but for many of us, we like to reflect on, and watch some of the older gold winners. With a plethora of ways to view old movies (streaming, TCM, even old DVDs), you can find almost any classic movie out there. But if you’re like me, there’s nothing like seeing one of those golden age of cinema films on the big screen.

Any way you see them, most Oscar winning movies should be on your list of films to see (certainly a few, like Crash, didn’t seem to stand the test of time). Not only are these great pieces of art, but also slices of history from when these movies were made. So why not represent some of these great movies with t-shirt images. Perfect for film buffs.

Will the movies of current time remain as fresh tomorrow? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling some of these recent winners will be remembered for years to come.

Spotlight may go down as the next All The President’s Men.

No Country for Old Men gave us a new fear of air pressure and destroyed a haircut for a generation.

There’s no doubt The Lord of the Rings trilogy will go down in celluloid history. All we geeks were excited when The Return of the King won best picture.

It’s been a long time since a movie had such a major Oscar sweep as Silence of the Lambs.

And to think, a small romantic comedy beat out the original Star Wars.

With it’s much less stellar sequels, you may not remember that the first Rocky was so good, it won Best Picture in 1976.

The 70s had the best double whammy of a win: Godfathers Part I & II. A movie overflowing with quotes like a certain pastry is overflowing with cream cheese!

I’m sure I’ll get some push back on this, but I believe All About Eve is probably the best written movie of all-time.

Of all the blogs on all the Internet, you had to walk into mine.

Gone With the Wind was Best Picture Winner of 1939. And the amazing Olivia de Havilland is still with us. 100 years old and counting! That is actually something to give a damn about.

And probably one of the worst crime in cinema history is that Citizen Kane never won Best Picture (only Best Screenplay).

So sometimes those that don’t win the big awards go on to be remembered even longer. So who knows, maybe Bad Santa 2 will be praised 75 years from now…
