There is hardly a media franchise quite so vast and highly popular as Naruto. The story began as a manga written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, and was eventually turned into a television anime series that has touched the lives of millions of people.
Naruto, the series’ namesake main character, is exactly the sort of witty, precocious, mischievous (and at times in the original anime, annoying) human being we can all identify with. Left orphaned and isolated with a demon trapped inside his body, Naruto grows up ostracized and alone. He doesn’t let that stop him from greatness. Naruto learns to work with a team, learns to make friends and deal with enemies, how to focus, how to take defeat, and how to laugh in the face of danger, and how to be a leader. It was the sort of story that grew with its readers and viewers – the sort of story that sticks with us forever.
