The very first Tim Burton film I ever saw was The Corpse Bride. From then on out, I was completely hooked. Burton films are marked by their dark themes and plotlines, gothic animation style or setting, and, of course, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter. For many of us, films like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Frankenweenie were staples of our childhoods. There’s also his more adult, horror-esque films like Sleepy Hollow and Sweeny Todd. Tim Burton films are as charming and creative as they are scary, and there’s really nothing like snuggling beneath your favorite blanket with a bowl of popcorn while a storm rages outside in mid-October, with a Tim Burton film playing in front of you.
