I don’t know about you, but the Mario games were some of the first games I ever played as a kid. I have so many fond memories of sitting with my two brothers in front of a tiny, boxy TV, controller in hand, popcorn and hot chocolate on the table while the rain lashed the windows outside.
We owe a lot to the Mario games. The franchise has a type of game for everyone: puzzle games, racing games, role-playing games, sports games, and even some educational games. Who hasn’t had broken friendships over a stray banana or a blue shell in Mario Kart, or been through a seven-hour Super Smash Bros tournament, or spent hours trying to save Princess Peach? The Mario franchise is a series of games that seems to be very near and dear to everyone’s hearts, no matter what age they are.
And let’s just say a silent prayer for all those little brothers and sisters that were forced to be player 2. I mean, what younger sibling hasn’t been Luigi in a Mario game, all clad in green when all we really wanted to be was just as cool as our older sibling who got to be Mario?
Let’s face it, though, there’s something to be said for all the female characters represented in the Mario franchise games, whether you’re talking about the Mario games themselves, or Super Smash Bros. As a girl myself, there’s just something so satisfying about beating older my brothers in a video game when your character’s clad in a pink frilly dress and her weapons of choice are a frying pan, a sneeze, and a parasol. Princess Peach was my jam, man.
Is it just me, or are the Pirahna Plants literally the worst? I don’t know if there’s anything more annoying than when you’re going around a curve on a track on Mario Kart and those things jump out at you or spit fireballs.
So, if you’re looking for a bit of a childhood nostalgia bomb or you just love awesome t-shirts, why don’t you check out the rest of our Mario-themed shirts? Whether you love Super Smash Bros, Mario Party, Mario Kart, or you’re the kind of person who loves all the classic Mario Bros games, we’re sure to have something to catch your fancy.
