The start of the new school year is a little over a month away, can you believe it?
Some students love their school. They go all out. They buy the merchandise, they tell their friends about how awesome their professors and teachers are, and get involved in all sorts of activities. Other people…well, they wish they were going to a different school.
Let’s be real. How many of us wish we had gotten our letter to Hogwarts when we turned eleven? What about learning xenolinguistics and medicine in future San Fransisco at the Starfleet Academy? Or hopping aboard Ms. Frizzle’s bus for a wild adventure? If you had superpowers, maybe you could attend Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters. If all else fails…you could always go to Kaer Morhen and become a witcher.
Sometimes it’s not about the particular school so much as the characters who attended it, though. Buffy went to Sunnydale, and of course – there’s East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. You know, the one with Troy Bolton and the remarkably skilled-at-music basketball team.
Regardless of what fictional school we wish we were attending, we all know we’d be way more excited for Fall if we were going to Sunnydale with Buffy, or learning about our superpowers from Xavier. Unfortunately, these schools don’t really exist, so we can’t attend them. We can still dream, though, can’t we?
Hogwarts
Take Hogwarts, for example. You could be learning about hexes in the Fall, or the history of magic, or playing magical pranks on your friends and sneaking off to get some butterbeer. You could meet the ghosts and disappoint Snape with your potion-making skills. Professor Trelawney might even predict your death. It’d be totally awesome – no matter what house you’re in. How many points will you earn for your house this year?
Sunnydale High School
Or, maybe you could be reuniting with Buffy and join her on her crazy adventures. You could fight vampires, make friends with witches – all while dodging that normal High School drama. Who doesn’t want to spend a school year like that?
Starfleet Academy
Dude. You could learn to fly a spaceship. Forget social studies and health class. You’ll probably have to take a lot of math classes here, but learning how to shoot a phaser rifle and brushing up on your Vulcan would make it totally worth it. Maybe you’ll be the next captain of a ship, off to explore new worlds and go where no man has ever gone before.
Xavier’s School for the Gifted
So, this one requires that you have a cool superpower (fidget spinner skills don’t count). If you’ve got one, though, like melting metal with your mind or flying or controlling local weather powers, Professor X might just show up on your doorstep to talk to you about a special school. If you were attending Professor X’s classes in the Fall, you’d get some sweet spandex duds and you could hang out with Wolverine. It’d be rad.
Don’t go! We’ve got more awesome tees for schools you wish you were going back to in September from Ms. Frizzle’s magic school bus, to East High… How many of these do you recognize? Which one do you most want to go to?
